In PDF custom font family is not getting applied

I have made the following changes:
Set Param.pyPDFDefaultFont = "Public Sans"
Set Param.pyPDFEmbedFont = true
DSS OwPDF/FontsDirectory = /usr/local/tomcat/work/sync-data/fonts
Added @font-face in pyCompactStylesForPDF.css
Still seeing Helvetica for labels/values in PDF
