Verify the font files first: place PublicSans-Regular.ttf, -Italic.ttf, -Bold.ttf, -BoldItalic.ttf (no variable .ttf) in the DSS folder, readable by the Pega user, then restart the node and clear static content cache. In pyCompactStylesForPDF.css, define four @font-face blocks that point to those exact filenames and give them a single family name like PublicSans (no spaces). Example: font-family: PublicSans; src: url("PublicSans-Regular.ttf") format("truetype"); font-weight: 400; font-style: normal — repeat for italic/bold/bold-italic with proper weights/styles. Set Param.pyPDFDefaultFont = PublicSans (must match the family in @font-face, not “Public Sans”), and keep Param.pyPDFEmbedFont = true. Override Pega’s defaults with broad rules like html, body, label, .cell, .field-value { font-family: PublicSans !important; } because many label/value styles have higher specificity. Make sure the CSS you edited is the one the PDF generator uses (pyCompactStylesForPDF for compact mode; otherwise include your CSS in the HTML-to-PDF step). If you still see Helvetica, check logs for OwPDF font load warnings, confirm the DSS path on all nodes, avoid CDN/relative URLs for fonts (use filenames in the configured folder), and ensure the template isn’t injecting inline styles that reset the font.
