Parallel Process vs. Asynchronous (Best Practice)
Which may be a better practice when wanting 2 processes to occur at the same time.
Using a Parallel Process or using changing the yellow process line to Asynchronous?

In general, you should not have two execution links coming out of a single point. In your second example, you have one thread executing off of the Parallel Process and another occurring after it is finished (the bottom execution path occurs after all of the parallel threads have finished or the timeout has been reached). Click the plus sign ( + ) to add a new parallel thread to the parallel process component.
In conclusion; with a minor change, I would recommend using the parallel process.

Based on what you have said the Parallel process would look like the image I have added here and would not need to use Asynchronous.
