Oracle Spatial and Graph Usage with Oracle Database JVM

We activated the JVM/APEX at the Oracle Database.  We have the following questions:

1) Does Pega Systems require Oracle Spatial and Graph?

2) Instead of Java Stored Procedures/functions, why can’t the Pega Systems use PL/SQL API DBMS_LOB to operate on the database LOBs? Are there any known technical limitations?

Assuming that no such limitations exist, please provide a roadmap for converting the Pega code to use DBMS_LOB PL/SQL API.

 

Please clarify the requirements.  Oracle Spatial and Graph seems to be sunset by end of this year.

Hi Leung,

1) No. Pega does not use Oracle Spatial and Graph.

2) There are no plans to convert Pega's UDFs to another technology. Note that these UDFs are only required when running Reports against embedded properties (those not exposed as table columns).
