OpenSpan 7.1 How to handle Login password expiration event ?

I have a desktop client application which forces its users to change their login password every 1 month.

I wanted the main parts of my automation solution will not be interrupted in case of password expiration.

I have some rough ideas about how to automate password change operation, however I wanted to know what is the common practices for handling login password expiration event first. 

Any real world stories or any thoughts are welcome.

This is normally done by interrogating the web page that pops up when password expiration event occurs. The creation of this page will help you control the flow of your automation in assisting the user in resetting their password.
