open pdf file within pega
Hello All greetings,
I have a scenario where i have to connect Pega with ECM tool. Which i have done successfully.
Now the case is when i have to read those file from ECM tool back and display in pega. Here i not allowing any user to download the file. User is just able to see the file.
For this is have tried to integrate iFrame within pega. which i have done but now i am not able to display into iFrame.
Could any one please help me on this, thanks.

would it make sense to have the PDF open in a browser?
example:
- UI will have a section with label configured as....
- How To <a class="Link" href='<p:r n=".LinkedPDFName"/>' target="_blank">Open PDF in Browser</a>.
- Property '.LinkedPDFName' will be set through an activity appended with base URL read from dynamic system setting.
- value for the property '.LinkedPDFName' can be read from a Decision Table, if required.

not sure how to implement ...
but please check OOTB control 'pzAttachmentThumbnail' available in ruleset Pega-EndUserUI:07-10-17 to display the attachment as thumbnail.

Which ECM software is used?
To avoid downloading documents to client machines, you need document streaming capability in your ECM system.
My opinion is, it's better to redirect the "view document" request to the ECM server rather than retrieving the contents to PRPC from the ECM server.

We have implemented something similar in our application, where the user gets redirected to the ECM system to view, open the document. Once the document is opened, the user also has the ability to save the document.
