non-existing branch ruleset is being checked against during a RAP package import process

We have found some strange outputs in the PegaRULES.log int our UAT environment today when we try to import a RAP package into our UAT server.

What makes it strange is that it seems importing process is comparing the rules in the RAP package against the rules in a non-existing branch ruleset, such as "AcctMgmt_Branch_Phase2-3:01-01-01".

"AcctMgmt_Branch_Phase2-3:01-01-01" was created in the development environment, and had been mistakenly imported to the UAT environment before, then being deleted from the UAT server many weeks ago when we noticed the mistake, and we can not see it any more in the all ruleset version record list that is displayed by selecting Rule explorer > SysAdmin > RuleSet Version in the Designer Studio.

Which table or cache is being checked during the import process, to decide which instances in the RAP package to be imported and which should be skipped ?

Hi Chunzhi,

Have you deleted all the rules contained in AcctMgmt_Branch_Phase2-3:01-01-01 ruleset version before deleting the ruleset version?

It seems to me that the other rules are still present in the system which belong to AcctMgmt_Branch_Phase2-3:01-01-01 ruleset,

Could you search for a name, for ex, like "MARKETPATTERNCHANGEJIMURISK"  and check if it is present in your system and is of type Rule-File-Binary

and has pzInskey of RULE-FILE-BINARY WEBWB MTBJ_MARKET_ACCTMGMT_WORK_MARKETPATTERNCHANGEJIMURISK20150408T092851_040_GMT!JPG #20150408T092850.953 GMT

We used "delete a ruleset" gadget and we couldn't find any rules associated with the deleted branch rule set by simply running a search from the search box on the right upper corner in the designer studio.

I had a look the code, looks to me that it is querying the database.

i think if you enable debug level logging on the following class before importing, we may get more information.

     com.pega.pegarules.deploy.internal.inventory.SynchronizerImpl

   

also could you tell which PRPC version is this system.

I just followed your advice on my local machine (PRPC V7.1.7) to see what information is generated in the log file by setting log level to debug level.

It seems only the rules pzInsKey are output, without any table information.

Hi Manu, you were right.

We run a couple of SQL against the several pr4_rule_* tables by following the advice from GCS team and found that the rules associated with the branch ruleset still exist in the database!

However we have no idea why these rules are not deleted from the tables after we run the "delete a ruleset" gadget.
