Need more information on executeRESTRequest api

Hi, I am looking out for more information on the executeRESTRequest api. From the Pega engine help it just shows the following information. I want to know what all params can be passed with some examples if possible.

executeRESTRequest

void executeRESTRequest(java.util.Map aCommonParamsMap)
Trimmed version to invoke REST services. Used by both REST tester tool
Parameters:
aCommonParamsMap - Map containing common params like EndpointURI, HTTP method etc.

I was exploring for a centralized way to be able to test out any/all REST apis from Pega (same as we test from postman) by passing the sample request (XML/JSON). I could then automate it to run and test several REST methods in one go. 

There is a similar api for SOAP (executeSOAPRequest) which works perfectly well and can help in testing any SOAP operation.
