Master detail feature to expand row is not there if Optimize code is checked for table
We have a requirement to present read only data in table. We should be able to do the following
1. Customize table, save the view
2. re-order columns
3. Expand collapse the row to show details
Since our data for the table can come from non pega sources we have to use Data page as the source for the table.
We have observed that if we check the flag "Optimize code" to Allow we are loosing the feature Master detail from the Operations tab along with that goes the expand collapse functionality.
Can you please suggest why Pega is not providing us that functionality and how can we achieve this requirement?

Hi Siddharta,
Currently in Optimized Grid, Exapndable row editing is not available. Most likely it will be available in future release. Currently in Optimized grid Row editing operation is available only on Modal window. For that you have to check in Editable in modal checkbox. I have verified this feature in Pega 8.3.1.

Thanks Karma for your response. Our requirement is not to edit the row but to see additional information in expanded pane and also to be able to customize the table to show\ hide or re-order the columns. Can you check if that feature is available in 8.3+? I would really appreciate your response.

Hi Siddhartha,
In Non optimized grid, Expandable row feature is available - Only on Row Editing - in Master Details option - Where display of details can be in Expandable rows. In Optimized Grid this feature is not available currently.
Regarding
Show/Hide - Check Optimized code checkbox , Personalize Table Checkbox , In Operations tab - Show/Hide Columns checkbox
For Reordering Column - Allow Column reorder checkbox should be enabled in Operations tab.
