Masking fields in Custom Section for Report Definition while Export to Excel
We have a report definition which uses custom section with dynamic layout to display report fields (Pega 7.4)
Requirement is to Mask a field (mask except for last N) while displaying the report and also when exported to excel.
To achieve this, we have used custom control for the specific property in the section. This is masking data as expected on report display but not masking data when data is exported (export to excel). Infact data is empty in the exported reports for those fields.
Can someone provide suggestion on how to achieve masking data when exported to excel in this scenario.

Hi,
Based on my understanding, you are using custom control to mask the data only while displaying. In the table you will have data which is not masked. So while exporting it won't be masked. I think either you need to have masked data in a table column or you need to do custom implementation for excel data so that you can control data written in to excel and mask the data during export.
Just shared my thoughts based on my understanding. We can see if there is a better suggestion.

I don't think the export code will know anything about your custom section. You might want to try specifying your custom control in the column format for the column in the report definition itself:
