Local development environment minimum configuration

Hi All,

If we are to use a local develop/test environment , i.e. one environment per developer/tester, what would be the minimum configurations required on a environment.

We are using Pega 7.1.9 on Weblogic-Oracle setup.

The installation guide recommends 4GB heap for weblogic and 8GB for database.

Can this be reduced further without 'trial and error' method?

Hello,

the recommendation suggested by us is optimum one . With less heap size, it might incur performance issue.

On a separate note, I am bit curious, why you want separate system for each users ? Is it for training / hands on ?

Considering your requirement I would say 4GB heap is sufficient, however I would suggest not to compromise with the Perm Gen or MetaSpaceSize (if server is on Java 8) let it be as recommended (i.e 1GB)
