List of all OOTB functions
I am looking for a place where I can find all the OOTB functions that Pega provides, so that I can use them in the expression builder. I am aware that the expression builder allows you to browse through, but I like to read through them when I am not using Designer studio.
Thanks
GG

Thanks for the reply!
I was rather looking for a complete OOTB list for functions that appear here[in attached], but offline.

Hi Gayathri,
To get the list of all the functions under the expression builder, run 'D_NavigationNode' datepage passing "AllFunctions" as the parameter value for rootnode param.
Find the attached screenshot for your reference.
Hope it helps!!

Thanks Sreepriya. I am actually looking for the list of OOTB function with descriptions.- Similar to the way you see in the functions tab, when you open expression builder.
The data page provided is useful, but I am looking for more details for each function.
Thanks,
GG

I am still looking for a list with descriptive definition of the function. Looks like I will have to search for each, open up the rule in DS and read through it.

Hi GG,
What release (version #) of the Pega Platform are you using?
Pega 8.1 and Pega 7.4 Help seems to have omitted the Pega-provided Functions.
But Pega 7.3 Help > Reference > Standard rules includes
https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v73/procomhelpmain.htm#zstandardrules/rule-utility-function.htm.
See also

Thanks,

Hi GG,
Here's the explanation for why you need to find the Pega-provided Functions (and other rules) using the Dev Studio Records or Apps explorers.
Legacy releases of Pega included Help topics (type Reference) called Atlases, which provided info on Pega-provided rules, for example,
https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v63sp1/Default.htm#zstandardrules/standardrulesindex.htm
In more recent Pega releases, the Atlas Help topics were removed (and repositioned within the product) as part of the Help redesign for the following reasons:
- The topics quickly fell out of date.
- There was no loop back to the Pega Product Documentation team when the form descriptions changed.
The solution to these problems was to apply the best practice of providing the information directly in the Pega Platform by way of the Dev Studio Records and App explorers. (See previous comments in this discussion thread.)
The Name and short Description should provide enough information when you click a specific item in the list, and rule form tabs provide additional information, such as parameters, usage, and so on.

If the information in the Pega platform is insufficient, please submit a Support Request of Service Type = Product Support and Request Type = Product Defect to submit a bug for the appropriate Pega Engineering team to fix. Pega Engineering will update the fields directly in the Pega Platform.
You will see subsets of standard rules throughout the Pega Help Task topics where it makes sense to include them to help you accomplish a task, but this information is scattered.
