JVM memory settings for Production
For pega 7 development environment the recommended JVM heap size is 4 GB. It is also recommended that to get good performnace set the Initial heap size and max heap size both same, 4GB.
For production environment it is recommended to have atleat 8GB heap size.
Now the question is, for production also do I need to set Initial heap size and max heap size same, both 8GB?
It will be really hepful if anyone can give confirmation on this.

Yes i guess so, I can see many other customer having this settings.
However, please consult your LSA and system administrator before finalizing it.

You should definitely set Xms and Xmx the same for a production environment. This is because a well-sized JVM will reach the maximum heap anyway, you might as well allocate the heap before actual work --- trading startup time with memory allocation time during actual work processing. This can also potentially avoid excessive GC.
