JMS MDB Listener Balancing
Hi,
- JMS MDB Listener Running.
- It has 80 Max Active Requestors.
- In Admin Studio - we see that some instances of the listener have 20K requests, and some instances of same listener has only 10 requests. Please refer to attached screenshot.
How can we ensure that the requests are equally divided among all the listener instance.

I can see that you are running the MDB Listeners on all the nodes & requests/ JMS Message is being processed by one node is may not be equal to the other nodes, I think this is quite common.
-Lot of User Requests goes into particular Web nodes resulting in running the received message into other nodes.
-U might be seeing a lot of requests being processed by Stream or Batch Nodes.

The main question is whether you're facing a performance issue or not?
At first sight, you've got lots of resources to handle your requests, which means that you're almost never overloaded and suffering from any delay which then means that any node can take any load.
Since there's no queuing (my feeling), then any request can be handled by any requestor and there's no technical reason that it goes properly balanced.
So back to my initial question: do you face any issue?
I also have unbalanced load across my listeners but there's no delay and no node is suffering so any listener is fine to handle more requests than any other one since it handles request quickly.

Hi Anthony, we are not seeing any performance issue as of now. But, wanted to understand - why the listeners are not properly balanced.
Wouldn't a better balanced load be a better efficient .

There's no load balancing. You've got some processes receiving messages and since they're most of the time "free/available" then it can be any of them without checking which one already worked earlier.
Decrease your capacity and you should see a better spread between your processes.
What you're looking for would be problematic if you've got some delay/queuing but there's not, so all is fine.
When you go to a supermarket, and you've got 10 cashiers, if all are free when you want to pay, you'll pick up any without any specific reason. At the end of the day, it can be that one cashier handled more than the other ones. It can be seen as an incorrect resources management but it's clearly not a process issue for the customer and clearly not a worry neither since you've spent no time waiting.
