Indexing of work objects in Production consuming more time
Hi Team,
Due to high volume of Work Objects, indexing of work objects are consuming more time. Last exercise, we remember we had spent more than 12 hours for re indexing process.
Could you please let us know if there are any logic which can be implemented to speed up the indexing logic on Production servers.
The same behavior is also observed in other pega applications.
We have idea to benefit us in such type of situations such as, the steps are laid as below:
1. Backing up the index file on periodic basis say for example once in a week.
2. Restore the backed up index file on need basis.
3. Run an utility (may be an activity) to index the work objects only from the day back up was taken.
4. Verify the reindexing once delta work objects are reindexed.
Please let us know if this type of exercise has been implemented across in any other customer place or do we have a similar workaround which will benefit in saving time.

Hello Gangadhar,
To maintain high availability of search and indexes, it is better to have multiple nodes configured as Search host node.
You may refer to the "Configuring search index host node settings" section from the installation guide for this.
Having multiple nodes as search host node would ensure that even if the index on one of the host node goes down the search would not be affected.
Your approach might work theoretically, however, there are chances of index shards corruption while taking backup or while restoring it.
