Importing Excel files and saving the data in a Data table

Hi I have a requirement that on click of a button i need to browse and upload excel files into Pega.The requirement is that i have to upload the excel files read the data in it and save it in a Data Table.

Can anyone kindly help me with the step by step implementation of the same requirement so that it will be useful for me to implement the same.

Hi,

You can import a CSV file to use as data table.

  • Create a data type.
  • Add the necessary fields and their respective data types as per excel table headers.
  • In the Records tab, choose Configure source and select the appropriate column header to be used as primary key.
  • Click on import and choose the CSV file to be uploaded.
  • Continue remaining steps and click Finish.

Hi Praveen,

try creating an Excel template and a binary file to save the Excel template and a section to upload the file and use an OOTB activity "MSOParseExcelFile" to parse Excel file and store it in a pagelist and then later you can map it to your data table.
