HTTP Status 404, Tomcat error
Hi,
Since this morning, I'm not able to access Pega from my browser. Launching the Virtual Machine on VirtualBox and access the URL from Chrome triggers the following error:
HTTP Status 404 - /prweb/PRServlet
type Status report
message /prweb/PRServlet
description The requested resource is not available.
Apache Tomcat/7.0.53
From the manager, it seems that /prweb is not running, and trying to start it give me the following error: FAIL - Application at context path /prweb could not be started
Is there a way to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for replying late; I fixed my issue by reinstalling all my virtual machine with the same file, but re downloaded from the webiste.

I do not mean to interrupt Damien, but you could also check the status of Tomcat in the vm.
Login to the VM console with:
user: root
password: install
then, enter this command: service tomcat status
you should get back something like: Tomcat is running with pid: nnnn

I have the exact same problem as WilliamT9679
Exact Same build of the Fundamentals VM
Exact Same mesage for Tomcat
Following the infomation on this thread I have logged into the VM and run the "service tomcat status" command, the response is "Tomcat is running with pid: 1721"
Any help would be appreciated

Look at the Tomcat Manager http://<ip>:<port>/manager and see if the /prweb resource is started. If not, start it up. If it cannot be started, I suggest to follow the OP's solution and re-extract a new copy of the PVS.
* for the login credentials to Tomcat Manager, try admin/admin or admin/password.

I have installed personal edition 7.2.1 both admin/admin and admin/password are not working for my tomcat manager. Please help if you know any new combinations for 7.2.1.

Have you tried using my solution above, i.e. going to Tomcat Manager (http://<ip>:<port>/manager) to see if the prweb application is running? If you're still unable to resolve, I suggest that you just restart from scratch again with a new .ova from Pega Academy.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Please do reply to my questions in the previous post first, so I can understand what course you are working on, and the name of the exercise VM you have installed. If you are not using the Pega Academy exercise system, then you may need to contact GCS or whoever you have obtained the VM from.

What course PVS are you working on? Check the Tomcat log files and see if you can identify what is the reason why /prweb cannot be started. If you are unable to resolve it, I suggest you contact [email protected] with details of the problems and what steps you had taken so far.

The VM machine instructions and the VM console appear to be misleading to me. I'm a manager taking this training to learn about Pega.
The right link is "http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:9080/prweb" and not "http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:9080". It took me a while to figure out and thankfully, I found this thread. The PDF as well as the VM console should be updated to say "Open browser in your computer....(http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:9080/prweb)".
