I don't think there is any OOTB rule available for IP address validation.

The org.apache.commons.validator.routines.InetAddressValidator class can be used from Apache Commons library that is already included in Platform.

You may use the below piece of java code in Edit-Validate and include this validate rule on your IP address property. 

if(null == theValue || "".equals(theValue)) {   theProperty.addMessage("Empty IP Address"); }

org.apache.commons.validator.routines.InetAddressValidator validator = new org.apache.commons.validator.routines.InetAddressValidator(); boolean isValidIP = validator.isValid(theValue);

if(!isValidIP) {   theProperty.addMessage("Invalid IP Address"); }

return isValidIP;

I just created the snippet, please modify it as per your needs and test it thoroughly.

Hi Harish. Thank you for your prompt reply. I just created Edit-Validate rule from your snippet and applied it to the property, however I was able to enter just any text value to the field and didn't receive any errors. Is there anything missing?

Hi Harish again. Sorry for confusion, I just expected the message to appear as soon as I entered incorrect value, however the message about invalid IP appeared after I click Submit. Thank you for your help!

You might need a javascript function to validate it, Edit validate will only work if post value triggers since the rule executes on server. You can use below sample code to validate the IP address in client side.
