How to rollback hotfix if it is not deployed through Hotfix Manager
Hi All,
I received a hot fix which I need to install through importing a .Jar file.
Pega advice to take a DB backup before deploy.
How to rollback if we find issues after some times (may be in one or 2 weeks, that time DB backup will not support)

Hi Perambakkam,
Rolling of hotfix depends on the rule changes present as per the hotfix.If the changes are in the rules like section,js file,activity,function we can check and change the rules as prior to the hotfix installation.If rule changes are part of java class then DB restoration should be an option.
Can you please let us know what is the hotfix installed and why you want to rollback?

Deployment Instructions:

1. Create a backup of your rules database. Once loaded, hotfixes cannot be uninstalled, so it is critical that you take a database backup before you begin.
2. Extract the contents of the <HFIX–23412–713–ChangeObjBrowseToRD.zip> to a location of
your choosing.
3. Connect to the system (e.g., http://localhost:8080/prweb/PRServlet) and login as CASysAdmin /install
4. Click on "Designer Studio" and select Application > Distribution > Import.
5. Browse to the location of the HFIX-23412.jar file, then click Next.
6. From the next screen, you can either
a. Select Next to install the files
OR
b. Check the "Enable advanced mode to provide more granular control over the import process" check box, click Next and
follow the onscreen instructions.

If the hot fix is installed by importing a jar, it cannot be rolled back later. DB restore is the only way possible.
But as the above fix has only RD and activity changes, if those two rules are available and if you're aware of the hfix changes , may be you'll have to override those two rules in your application.
