the validate rule you can select the function as "Validation of [Property Name] using [Edit Validate Name] fails"

Hi Marc,
in the pega help as well as several community questions its mentioned that " validate rules(process category validate rules of type Rule-obj-validate ) can call edit validate rules . please find below the extract from the pega help documentation
"Note: Validate rules are different from edit validate rules. Edit validate rules require Java programming skills to develop. Validate rules can call edit validate rules. Your system includes a number of standard edit validate rules that you can use as is, or copy and tailor for your needs."
so is my interpretation to the above pega help statement incorrect or anything missing here?
when you say custom function do you mean writing a java code?

Hi Bhavya,
i am using .4 personal edition , i created new sample validate rule ( validate rule/RULE-OBJ-VALIDATE which is under process category ) from here i am not able to see a way to define/ select function where i can choose "edit validate rule) as described in pega help .. and to configure options mentioned in your screen shot..
attaching a screen shot of the one i tried.. is this a issue with PE edition or the 8.4 version?
