How do I use a function in an Activity that returns a HashMap – Java Type ?

We have a function that has Output Parameter as HashMap - Java Data Type.
We need call this in an Activity.
How do i use this HashMap return data in Pega ? Can some one share example usage ?

Hi Team,
You can select the java method in the activity and write your logic. Please check if your business requirement fulfils with the predefined methods that were provided in the activity rule. If not then use the java step and write your java code there according to your requirement.

Let me rephrase my question.
There is OOTB Pega Function , which we would like to invoke in an Activity.
This function has Output Parameter as HashMap - Java Data Type.
How do i use this HashMap return data in Pega Activity or a DT ? Can some one share example usage ?

1. In activity, define a parameter of type Java Object, say, myMap.
2. Use Property-Set to set the output of the Function to this parameter.
3. Use Java step to read this map as follows:
java.util.Map myMap = (java.util.Map) tools.getParameterPage().getObject("myMap");
4. You can now retrieve entries from myMap using the methods in java.util.Map.
Check Work-.AttachFile activity which uses OOTB RUF called pxUploadFile which returns a HashMap.

Can you check properties called pyEdgesHashMap and pyNodesHashMap. You can check their reference Data Transforms and Activities to get some understanding on how to use them.
