How do i send keystroke on HTML textbox using Openspan
Hi,
I need to send {ENTER} keystroke on HTML textbox in openspan automation. I did check that SendKeys Method available only for Windows button control. Can anyone help me on this?

Hi,
You can not apply a sendkey to HTML text box directly. But a sendkey can be applied to the frame where the text box is.
If you uncheck the Create global webpage while interrogating you can see the top most control in Object explorer is a frame control. Once you apply frame.focus = true and frame.sendKey={Enter}. it should work

What this does is send a key to the frame. That can have unintended consequences if focus is on the wrong control or the user does something to the screen at the wrong time. Use this approach with caution. Most but not all cases where something like this is needed can be handled by using RaiseEvent.

Here is an article from the OpenSpan forum where I had to do the same thing. Let me know if you have any questions on it as I did get it implemented (although I didn't write the JavaScript. Credit goes to our engineers for that).

Hi Sasnt,
My apologies for the late response. I tried the solution provided but its was not working as expected. I got an execution error while executing from "Execute Script" to "Invoke Script" methods. Can you or anyone provide more details on this as what would be the order of execution of methods.

You first execute the script to add it to the page (usually you call this off the created event for the page). InvokeScript is what triggers the key code, so you'd call that when you were ready for that step.
