How do I log a warning message from a data transform
in a data transform when using pxLogMessage you can specify a log level, i,f, w, e etc
but to be able to make use of the log level - how do i set the log level for the logger of data transform
In activities you view java code and see the logger name but there is no logger name when viewing java for a data transform - so how can you change the log level for your data transform -what is the logger name for a data transform??

To output a Stacktrace using Log4j , oLog object usually, it's pretty simple:
oLog.<level>(<Message>, new Throwable());
You will get the message plus a stack trace.
Since you want to call this from a data transform you would have to create your own Rule-Utility-Function to handle this as there is no OTB function to that will output the message with a stack trace.
This is something I think we should have in the OTB as a new function like pxLogMessageWithStack().

As you are saying like we can do that from activity call that activity from data transform by using pxExecuteAnActivity

Thanks for the reply - but i don't need / want a stack trace
From a data transform, i want to log a warning message so I can use :
pxLogMessage('some log message', 'w') But how I set the logger log level for the data transform
to do this I kneed to know the logger name so then I can set the log level from
Configure -> System ->Operations -> Logs -> "Logging level settings" (this has changed from Pega 8.7 )
to get the logger name from an activity you can view the java , but when viewing the java for a data transform i don't see the logger name ??

Hi @JavS9029: Can you see this function "pxLogMessage--(String,char)" You can pass the log levels as either of d/i/f/w/e to this function similar to you are using in a log level in activity.
So in Data transform it will be like @pxLogMessage("your log message",'w') for warning type. Note the log level parameter is a character and should be in single quote.
