How do I convert string of XML service request to clipboard page using XML stream rule ?

Hi  ,

How do I convert string of XML service request to clipboard page using XML stream rule ?. Apply-parse-xml activity works only with  XML parse rule.  I want to parse XML string which is service request data.  If we look at Connect soap rule we have XML stream and XML Parse rule.  string of XML which is service response  can be parsed to clipboard using Apply-Parse-XML method and XML parse rule. I am trying to convert XML string to clipboard page using XML stream rule. Please suggest me if we have any out of box API or java code

Hari,

Can you please elaborate as to why you would want to use an XML stream rule to convert XML string to Clipboard? Parse XML is meant for that. XML stream is used to convert Clipboard to XML string.

Hi Praneeth ,

I am designing a tool which is similar to SOAP UI. I want to place XML request on page and invoke the service (Connect-SOAP) .  How do i convert request to clipboard page ?

I think I get your point now. So you have XML string which you want to convert to clipboard page so that your connector can use the same data for forming the request to invoke the service. Here is how I would go about it:

  1. Create both Parse XML and XML stream rules with similar structure where elements are mapped to/from the same clipboard properties.
  2. Parse your XML to clipboard using Apply-Parse-XML. Now your XML data is available on clipboard which is shared by the XML stream rule as well.
  3. Use this XML stream rule in your connector. You can verify if the stream rule is generating the correct XML by dumping its contents into a scalar property using Property-Set-XML.

Hi Praneeth ,

Anyway to achieve this with java code and without creating Parse XML. I have whole bunch of services. Every time when we add new service to application we have to create parse XML for Request. It will be difficult to use this tool.
