how to disable localization of drop down display text
Hello, we noticed that Pega is applying localization to drop down display text ootb. We cannot see any option to disable it. When the input control is text, it is possible to disable localization in read-only mode. However, seems that for dropdowns, even in edit mode, the localization is applied.
For example: I have a dropdown list that shows coutry codes. Both value and label are set to ISO-2 code. Some of the country codes (e.g. HR) have field values in ootb translations ruleset. So pega in french version instead of showing option as HR (Coratia) is showing RH (french translation of Human Resources HR acronym).

Could you try turning off the localization flag on the Section rule under the HTML tab this will make sure that the controls are not localized. But this will apply the same for the other controls as well in the section. If you want to disable only for the dropdown you can drop the dropdown control into a section and turn off the localization under the HTML tab and then embed back this section in the parent layout.
Note : HTML tab is enabled only when the Section is viewed in Full Section Editor mode

Hi @TusharBanerjee, yes indeed we tried this approach and it kinda works, but its not a very consistent approach :) because we'd have to do it for every dropdown that we have (and potencially has label translation issues). So as workaround it is helping, I was wondering if there is a setting / configuration we could toggle to disable the unwanted translations in dropdowns.
