how to debug skimming process

we have one ruleset Rone(Assume) which is having 19k(k=1000) rules and skimming is getting failed because server is getting slow down due to deadlock after skimming around 14000 rules. we are successful in skimming other ruleset having 40k rules but not sure why server is going to failed state for ruleset Rone.

we are not able to figure out nothing in Pega log files even after enabling debug mode for classes Com,Rule_Obj_Activity. Please help us on how to debug the reason for skimming failure.

Hi

It can happen for multiple reason but the first thing to check is your database.Database performance is the primary hurdle that is experienced with skim run .

Not sure whether the problem in skimming process is due to flow rules, but we followed an alternative approach instead of skimming.

But can anyone tell us why Pega is not writing anything into logfile during skimming process.

would enabling the below loggers help?

  • com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.access.ReportDefinitionListSpecification
  • com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.access.DatabaseImpl
  • com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.access.Saver
