How to create new record using savable datapage
Hi
I am trying to create a new record in a data object using a savable data page and facing issue with how the data save plan works.
I followed the below article and used a data transform to populate the savable data page. I am able to populate the data page along with the key.

The option I have selected in the data save plan is database save which is again trying to identify the record by using Obj-Open-By-Handle on the data object. The handle isn’t fully formed. It has only the class name and no key yet on the table/data object. So, this is failing in step 5 of PXCHECKIFSTALE.
The error message is “This external handle is not valid: MDC-NEC-Data-Voter”.
Please suggest how to resolve this.

I went through the link you have shared. However in my case, I am invoking the data page outside of case context.
Trigger on UIPages-Voter class->Activity->Data Page to insert data into Data-Voter class.
So I havent used a flow action.
Is it absolutely necessary to invoke from flow action to be able to insert new record? Then I could try adding a flow in the UIPages-Voter class and start it from the activity.

What is your when condition logic.
Try to save the data without when condition and use Lookup Remove otherwise condition.

I cannot use look up because it is a new record that I am trying to save. In this application, the only use of that particular savable datapage is to add new records. The when condition checks if Param.index=1. If so, data page D_MDCNECDataVoter1Savable.pxResults is populated via data transform otherwise it should populate using lookup. The when rule should always return true. I have done further analysis and found that the key value VoterId is not getting set in the data transform. Param.VoterId has the right value but it is not able to set the field. Can you please suggest some way to make it work? Here are additional screenshots to explain the matter further.
P.S. I have removed the when and the lookup method now and result is same.

The linked class wasnt needed and I removed it. Now VoterId Data Access is manual and value is getting populated in the data page. Thank you for pointing it out. I found a terrible issue in the data transform SetVoterData and fixed it. Used UpdatePage D_MDCNECDataVoter1Savable[].Now the handle is built properly. However Obj-Open-By Handle failed in step 5 of pxCheckIfStale with the error that it couldnt find the record.

Parameter is missing in step 5 Obj-Open-By Handle getting empty pzinskey value.

This is because the record is not yet saved to the table. Since we are already using the trigger activity, I am now avoiding the Save-DataPage and using the Save-Page activity instead. This is solving my issue. Thank you for all the support.
