How to convert image attached from local machine to binary file

Hi all,

I am attaching an image from local machine(named as '../datacontent/images/userupload1234.png'), so on clipboard it is showing that it is a instance of 'Data-Content-Image'. Now I need to convert this image to binary file. How to do that?  

Any suggestions.
