Fusion Chart Questions
Our customer has the following questions wrt fusion charts:
- Is the use of the tool for schematic views purposes recommended by Pega? Attached is a sample schematic view. The view could get much more complex, in terms of the number of objects and the inter relationships depicted.
- Are the underlying fusion libraries purely javascript based or are there any flash/swf components used for rendering?
- Is the fusion charts extension fully supported i.e any bugs, issues with rendering the schematic view in the current/future versions of fusion charts be addressed by pega support?
- Are there any plans to further upgrade/replace the component in the future?

- One can use the activity ‘pzCustomFusionChart', pass the chart XML and fusion chart name.

- Issues related to PRPC while using Fusion charts are only handled by Product Support. Otherwise not.
- Are there any plans to further upgrade/replace the component in the future?
- I don't think there are any such plans as of now.

I wouldn't recommend it since its not really a chart and you wouldn't be using any of Fusions charting features (unless I've missed that they include this view somehow). How were they planning on utilizing fusion to build it?

In 7.1.7 we upgraded to FusionCharts 3.4.0 which dropped support for Flash based charts and now it's purely javascript.

Any issues with the FusionChart library will have to go through Fusion. If the issue is discovered in one of the charts we ship via the chart control or report definition chart, if it's reported to us we'll try to find a workaround to resolve the issue & we'll report it to Fusion.

We upgrade the version of Fusion we ship regularly when a new version is released.
