Failed to start Kafka on 1 attempt, kafka log ERROR StatusLogger Unable to access log4j2.xml
I have Pega 8.5.1 Personal Edition and it was working properly.
Recently I imported PegaCRM 8.5 to it and when I restarted the system, the personal edition stopped working. Whenever I try to start it, I get below error message.

I have tried changing the node type to universal but it didn't work for me.

Are those files still existing on your disk drive: i.e., C:\Pega 8.5.1\PRPCPersonalEdition\tomcat\kafka- Proprietary information hidden\config\log4j2.xml?

something is wrong with your kafka bootstrap, it is Personal Edition, not sure how technical you are, maybe better off reinstall the whole thing versus finding out what was wrong. Attach the entire log here, let me see if I can spot anything more.

Try setting the DnodeType in setenv.bat to Universal. It solved my issue. I was receiving same error when i was trying out few changes related to kafka.
File Location :
C:\PRPCPersonalEdition\tomcat\bin\setenv.bat
Update : set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -DNodeType=Universal

@RakeshBurbure Same here, having the same issue. I am running PEGA personal edition, it was all fin and suddenly stop working and throwing those exceptions.

@RakeshBurbure Try deleting folder - Kafka-Data under tomcat folder. Please let me know if it worked
