execute SQL after completion of campaign?
Hi,
We are using the Cordiant Marketing Director. We are exploring to use the software to blast out SMS alerts to our customer whenever some locations of the our Fibre network is down. The information is not readily available in the database and hence we need to load the data and execute the campaign.
Just wondering,
1) If we will to load data into the table while the campaign is execution, what is the impact to the campaign?
2) Is it possible to execute a SQL to update certain field in the table after the campaign execution has completed, so that the next run will not pick up the old record? It is not possible to remove stop the duplication at campaign setting, as the same customer need to be contacted twice if the main backbone is cut off twice.
Please advise what is the best way to build the campaign.

[Answer]: Please explain in detail about the above statement "If we will to load data into the table while the campaign is execution". Are you planning to load data in to customer tables or to any other tables?
During campaign execution, target population will be fetched at Segment execution stage. if you are planning to insert data in to customer tables, based on the criteria, if the new data falls under the criteria then segments will fetch the data (if data already commit to the tables).

[Answer]: If the campaign is a recurring campaign, there is an option "Exclude Previous Recipients" determines whether people included in earlier cycle(s) should be excluded from the current cycle.

Yes, I am trying to load data into the customer table.
During campaign execution, target population will be fetched at Segment execution stage. if you are planning to insert data in to customer tables, based on the criteria, if the new data falls under the criteria then segments will fetch the data (if data already commit to the tables).

[Answer 1]: After Segment execution, if additional table columns (other than TYPE1 table) are used in extract template then, during output stage these additional tables and their columns are joined. If customer tables are truncated then campaign output contains ZERO records (depends on the ExtractTemplate and Segment stored fields structure). Hence it is not recommended to truncate customer tables before cycle completion.

Answer 2]: The information will be stored in CAMP_COMM_OUT_DET table and during next cycle, the previous data will be excluded. If customer table is truncated, in next cycle campaign will be completed with “0” record count. If customer table is truncated and loaded with new data, based on the segment criteria, next cycle will fetch the target population and previously contacted customers will be excluded.
As you already know, all the customer data will be fetched based on TYPE1 column. Hence recommending you to perform more tests in TEST environment before applying these thoughts on PROD environment.
Please note that whatever changes done at customer tables will be reflected at all objects in their next execution.
