We have raised the SR ( SR-A9585) and got the hotfix ( DL-49589). Now the error message is gone but I can't see any data in the excel.
Based on the latest conversation with one of the support guys, this is something not supported by IE 64 bit browser. I am not sure because the same is working fine in prod and other environments.

what version of Pega 7 are you using? Can you also attach the fiddler trace? Looks like you are editing data table, right?

I am using Pega 7.1.5. However the same version I am using in pre-prod and prod environment as well but there I am unable to replicate the issue.
I have sent you the fiddler dump via pega FTA. Let me know if you haven't received the file yet.
To answer your last question - Yes, I am editing data table.

Since you mention that pre-prod and prod work for your but not UAT, can you try doing this - add your UAT PRPC system domain to the Trusted Sites list in IE 10, launch a new session and retry. Do you still see the problem?

if you check the trusted sites for these two IE browsers, were the pre-prod and prod hostnames included? If yes, then what Sunny said is the most likely reason; otherwise, that is not.

Hi Kevin,
I do not see prod/pre-prod urls in trusted browser list. However I found something new that might help you to investigate this thing further. When I am trying to access UAT in different network (for e.g. Home), then edit in excel is working fine for all the IE browsers (8,9,10).
Not sure if IE browser installed on my office network has got any issue. So I downloaded Chrome browser on my office PC and now I can't see Edit in Excel feature at all as shown below. I see the same issue with my home network as well.

Looks like it is browser specific. Is this happening your machine or for all machines in the office? Edit in excel only works in IE, so chrome is not an option.

I just found below post on PDN and it says there is a hot fix (HFIX-7917) to resolve this. Can someone please re-confirm if this the right hot fix and it is worth raising a support request with pega to get this?

I don't think HFIX-7917 suitable for your case, since the hot-fix is for v6.3.
I suggest you raise an SR and refer this PegaMesh thread in your SR's issue descriptions.
