Error when using Edit-Validate on property level

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to show the values entered in a section in read-only mode below the editable section, and in my section i configured a property with custom edit-validate rule. when edit-validate is triggered due to invalid entry in field the error is shown in both editable section and read-only, but i need it to show the error only in editable section.

Note: I am using tabbedscreenflow7 harness

Hi,

If you have added this edit validate rule in the "Advance" tab of the property then it will trigger this validation wherever you use this property (whether it is editable or read only).

To achieve your requirement instead of using the edit validate rule in the property Advance tab, create a validate rule and use this edit validate in this validate rule for the particular property which you want to validate.

Now if the editable and read only fields are in different sections then you can have this validate rule called in the flow action which is referring to the section having the editable field.

If both the fields (editable and read only) are in the same section then you can have an "onChange" event configured in the cell property of the field with "Run activity"  action and mention an activity which calling the validate rule created above.
