Connect SQL rule to retrive huge data and pagination
Hi,
We have a requirement to get huge data from multiple external data base tables.Thus using Connect sql rule (in browe tab) to retrive the data.
But we would like to implement pagination for the resutls. Lets say if my page size is 50 and if i am in second page,it should get only records from 51 to 100 from data base and i want to see only those values on the clipboard.
Please let me know your throughts to implement this.
(plz dont say go for Report definitions as RD is not at all feasibile in my scenario)

If your table has sequence number/ row number use that each time when you hit DB.
Ex:
SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE rownum > 10 and rownum <= 20.
If you are trying to join multiple tables and wants range of records you can have view built inside DB and use the same above function.

Have you tried creating a class and mapping it to external table (Class External Tab will hold the mapping for you). Creating a RD in this class and giving pagination on it.
Worth a try I would say.
