Cloud Exercise Stem
Out of curiosity,
How is cloud exercise system provisioning working???.
How is an fresh instance is made ready within 12 minutes?
how is the instance restored to initial state when its not been used for 4 hours?.
How Pega is able to give an instance to each one of them??
Whats the backend architecture??

It's more of a cloud thing than a Pega thing. You must understand 'cloud formation' and 'Infrastructure as code'.
Pega may be multi tenanting behind the scenes.
But it may be easier to start a new EC2 instance with both Pega (Deployed on to tomcat) and Postgres on one EC2 instance. Then easily that instance can be recycled.

Software in Pega Cloud are deployed using "Infrastructure as code" approach. Based on code, we can run hundreds of instances in a few minutes. This process is fully automatic. Depending of the current needs we can sale in/ scale out instances so all requests will be handled in a proper time.
The data is stored in a database and therefore an appropriate system for creating snapshots should be introduced. In Pega Cloud we have daily backups strategy, as well as we are offering manual backup from the time that Customer request.
