Clearing cache in unix box
We have our Pega 7.2.2 applications hosted on Tomcat in unix box. I have recently joined the team but in my earlier applications/projects where tomcat was running in windows env we used to have Pega_Temp folder where we used to clear cache by deleting the contents of the folder and then start the server. In the unix box I'm not able to find such Pega_Temp directory or file 'PegaRULES_Extract_Marker' to delete it. In unix is it stored with different name or directory?

Hi There,
The content of Temp folder would be seen under prweb folder even for UNIX.
Issue a find command to search for the PegaRULES_Extract_Marker file and you are done.
go to the app server directory and issue below command
find ./ | grep -i "PegaRULES_Extract_Marker"
You will get idea of the folder.

Thanks Laurence, in my SMA I see that it is /tmp and when I open the folder through WinSCP I can see number of folders in it (attached for reference). Do I need to clear all these folders for clearing the cache. In window we used to have few around 10 folders which we used to clear (attached for reference).
Please suggest.

Hi Satya,
It depends on your requirement generally. Basically you can remove all as well but you can loose some important one like static content etc.
Its good to go through all the different sort of cache on PDN for complete understanding.

You appear to have your Search Index (PegaRULESIndex) in your pega temp directory.
Unless you specifically want to reindex from scratch, then I'd suggest that you don't delete that subdirectory.
