I believe your Table 1 is the external table(as it's not mentioned explicitly).

Just to confirm, have you followed steps?

1. Create Database Rule - This would establish the connection with your new database instance.

2. Create a table in external Database(You have done already).

3. Use External Database Table Class Mapping wizard to create Class for Table created in above step. You can create properties linked to each column in DB table.

Verify that your class is mapped to database table correctly or not by:-

1. Right click on Class name in App Explorer.

2. Select "Definition" from the menu.

3. At the below of the table, definition landing page. Click on "Test Connection" button to see the table name where class is pointing to.

Also, there could be completely root cause as I have read in one of the Support Article.

"A dot in the To Table specification is converted to an underscore since the dot is not a valid character for table names.
The table schema_tablename is not defined in the PegaRULES schema."
