Accessing Synonyms through Database class mappings

We have created a synonym A for table A and trying to access the synonym through Database Class Mappings but we can't able to see the synonym A listed in "New External Database Table Class Mapping".

The synonym A has same permissions as table A.

Can we access synonyms through Database class mappings ?. Can you let me know if i need to do any configuration changes to access synonyms.
