cancel button displays error message
On submit click, UI throws validation error message as expected. After that I clicked on cancel button. Expected behavior is, it should simply show the review harness without any error message. But, Review harness shows the previous error message from submit click.

UI-Kit version 03-01-01 seems to have fixed this issue.So it's fixed from ML8 onwards and not ML7.

1. Which version of PRPC you are on ?
2. How you are enforcing the validation ?
3. Are you doing a page set message to store the message on clipboard ?

1. the version I am using is 7.1.7
2. Yes, I am using a validation & activity rule on submit. This is functioning as expected.
3. For a complicated validation, I am using activity. I use Page-Set-Message on pyWorkPage

Hi Pradeep,
I have been able to see the issue that you have reported on my lab system and also identified a solution that you can try at your end .
Step I followed
1. Created a validate rule
2. Used it in the validation tab of the flow action
3. Fired the validation at run time by giving wrong value and clicking submit
4. Now click Cancel.
5. It opens up the case on review mode and also displays the error message on top and bottom of the harness
Find below is the screenshot of the issue :
To counter this issue I tried the below.
1.Create an activity which has a single step that performs page-clear message ( Find screenshot below )

2 Open the section : pyCaseActionAreaButtons in your local ruleset and then change the action set of cancel button by adding the "Run Activity " first , followed by review. Find below screenshot

There is another client side validation issue related with "Cancel" button, which has been reported as below, And I think these two should be solved at the same time.

Can you check if Action buttons section is not overridden in your application. I am quite sure this was already handled. Let me also double check in my machine.

Can you also confirm if ML8 is using UI-Kit:03-01-01 and you are facing issue in ML8 also.
I have checked in ML8 and ML9 and I was unable to reproduce the issue.

Our application is built on ML7 and we imported it to ML8 server.
Since the UI-Kit is part of the application rule stack, we still use UI-Kit-7:02-01-01 on ML8 server.

We are facing this issue too. We have a few FlowActions on the screen and Cancel is one of them. WHen ever we fire a different FLowAction, it is firing the client validation errors. How do we get around this?

Can you please check pyCaseActionAreaButtons is not overridden.
As a workaround you can paste and use the below script in UserWorkForm fragment.

Issue solved by following Santanu's solution. But to answer your question, there are multiple cancel buttons on pyCaseActionAreaButtons sections. Few of them have "Cancel" as button click action. Others have "Launch Review harness". So, when you have "Launch Harness" on cancel button as action, this button does not behave like a cancel button, instead it acts like a normal submit button. This is causing the issue.
