Can we install Pega 8.7 on Customer's privet cloud or containerized on-premise without Helm chart
Can we install Pega 8.7 on Customer's privet cloud or containerized on-premise without Helm chart . The customer has strict security policy and software stack and do not support helm. They are new to Pega so want it to be installed on their infra(containerized using Tanzu Kubernetes)

Using Docker or Helm for Kubernetes are the only available installation processes. Both are standard for micro-service install processes. The steps for installation with either option should be straight-forward for a cloud system administrator.
Our documentation has also been updated to reflect the correct information:
Installing Cosmos React UI by using Docker
Installing Constellation by using Helm for Kubernetes
Installing, patching, or updating Pega software in Kubernetes deployments
Could you have a look at the Q&A of the CLSA Community meetup meet the CTO - Architecture to see if this answers your question?
Extract:
PegaCloud is fully built on AWS. Do we expect that PegaCloud will also be possible on different cloud technologies for clients that are fully on those stacks, for example Azure?

Pega offers support for AWS, Azure, GCP, VMWare Tanzu (formerly Pivotal), and RedHat OpenShift through our Cloud Choice program.
Clients wishing to build and operate Kubernetes environments for Pega Infinity may do so under the cloud choice guarantee. Pega Cloud is our fully managed service. We build and operate the environments in Pega Cloud as part of your full service subscription.

@MarijeSchillern thanks for the response.
This customer has strict guideline on infra and prefer to use their con-premise containerized set-up only. As it seems Helm is only required to use the Helm charts and not to use the Kubernetes YAML examples directly, i am trying to understand can we install by directly using Kubernetes YAML? It seems helm installation is not allowed.
Thanks

@SaswatiSett Yes you can write your own kubernetes yaml files.
We download the help charts to use as a guideline to write our own deployment configurations to match a larger ecosystem than pega alone. We find our own deployment charts easier to maintain because we have to make them work on our environment only, so we can use a lot of settings en other configuration items 'hard coded' Helm uses a lot of if-then-else construction to match a lot of use cases. It's not hard to understand the basic principles of the pega helm charts and turn them in your own preferred flavour.

@SaswatiSettcan anyone share some input around this please?

@SaswatiSett here is the response from our SME:
"We support Helm based deployments.
Using direct yaml deployments with Kubernetes would be very advanced and error prone.
We have seen clients try and they always have difficulty supporting the environment over time.
If you decide to proceed with this route and have problems, the first thing you will need to do is try Helm and see if the same problem exists. We will not debug your custom yaml files directly".
I hope that answers your question.

@Kishore Sanagapalli We are facing issues Openshift containerization with 8.7.3 /8.8.3 with embedded services.
Our plan is to go with embedded first then we continue our journey with Externalization of services.
Inquiry Regarding Containerization of Pega Infinity 23 with Embedded Services | Support Center
We need some help since we are not getting much needed help on this journey and we are pretty new in this area so debugging or understanding the issue is really difficult for us.
Thanks in advance.
