Button Not Working while Moving controls from IE to Microsoft Edge

I am working on 7.1.8  there is a screen with a button on clicking it a word document will be popped up this behavior is working well in IE Brower but it is not working in Edge and Chrome. I have tried in various forms of tracing by enabling all the options listed in the Tracer but nothing has traced.Please help me with this issue if anyone having any insight let me know.

This is expected behavior. IE Support Microsoft Silverlight plug-in 2.0, where as the Modern browsers wont support the Silverlight component. 

You should try converting the functionality to Rich Text Editor.
