Branching Limitation

Hello,

When going over the best practices for Branching, I came across its limitations:

  1. Non rule-resolved rules
  2. Modify existing data instance
  3. Modify existing classes in rules

Can you please provide more information about the above points ?

What are rule-resolved rules?

Hi Marine,

There are certain rules that participate in the Rule Resolution process. These rules are known to be "rule-resolved". Rules mentioned in the class starting with 'Rule-'

 There are other rules that do not participate in the Rule Resolution process and they are known as "non-rule-resolved" rules. Generally, Data- and Work- classes are non rule resolved as they never undergo ruleresolution process.

Branching does not take care of data instances like Dynamic systems setting. Developer should manually associate application ruleset instead branch ruleset.
