Auto-Increment pyID inside an activity

Hello,

I have to set the pyID in my activity to be auto-incremented :

set .pyID = "ASSET-" + auto-incremental number

How to do so?

I don't want to use the auto-generated ID (.pyUID). Can you please advise?

What is the source and repository of the auto-incremented number?

How will you ensure that the number generated is unique across multiple server nodes?

It's pretty easy to implement "auto increment" within the database using a 'sequence'. For high volume applications I normally swap out the OOTB stored procedure sppc_data_uniqueid and change the logic to simply select next value from sequence. Can use one sequence globally or separate sequences for each expected prefix (which would be ASSET- in this case)
