What is the difference between the two log-in credentials? Are additional information, stages, data elements etc defined for val? It changed to author_val@gogoroad now just that I wanted to start with the exercise for validation.
Side note: When solving exercises we are put into a scenario where classes, data elements, rules etc are predefined by someone else in order to solve the gogoroad case. Overall it would be very helpful to get clear information on every exercise WHAT comes with pega automatically and what was actually prepared by hand.

Not all exercises require the addition of rules from the previous exercise.
In general there are two possible reasons that each exercise has an different login.
- Using a different login points to a slightly different application underneath, which allows students to avoid situations where a mistake in a previous exercise has made it difficult to follow the instructions in the current exercise. So, each new login points to an environment where you can be confident that the steps will match what you see on screen.
- In some cases, yes, additional rules have been put in place to make exercises more productive. For example, the UI exercise provides a configured view for entering a customer ID. In this case, the purpose of the exercise is to style the UI, and not to create yet another form (a task that you will have done several times over by then) just so you can style it afterward. Those instances should be called out in the exercises, but if they're not, please let us know.

For BAE, there is one additional consideration: namely, the discrepancy between tasks and implementations that an SA would be expected to perform, and what a BA would be expected to perform on a project. For example, a data transform that copies information from a child case to a parent case would be appropriate for an SA, but not for a BA.
In that event, the exercise should explain what tasks would be left to an SA to follow up on, and that work would then be reflected in the next application used by the student.
