Analysis project

I'm on creating a segment following the instructions in the "Pega Marketing User Guide 8.2".
I cannot choose option.It's Analysis project.

Following is questions.
1)Why I cannot choose Analysis project??

2)In any case,I’m required to choose this option??

1. The Analysis Project selector in the screen shot you shared will list Analysis Project rules configured in the system.  It seems that the system does not have any Analysis Projects configured.  This is why you are not able to choose an Analysis Project.

2. Selecting an Analysis Project is not required.

It may be helpful to review the Segment chapter of the Pega Marketing 8.2 User Guide, https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/documents/pega-marketing-82-user-guide

This chapter contains information about creating Segments and referencing Analysis Projects.
