Alternate way for Prompt settings in report definition
Hi,
There is an option to select the Available and Valid Values using Prompt Settings in Summary View.
We have migrated our application from 6.2 to 7.3 and wanted to display a filter with the available values to the user at run time. But these settings are not present in the report definition.
Is there a way to achieve the same in report definition ?

Thanks for posting on PSC.
We do have the filter option available in runtime for report definition as well. We could configure it in the grid/table. Open the "Layout Properties" and navigate to "Operations" tab and check the "Allow Filtering".

However, we have a link which calls an activity for showing the report definition. In 6, the prompt settings could be used for configuring a list of valid or available values, which was displayed on run time and could be set before hand by the user .The report was then generated depending on the value the user has selected.
Even the help of the report definition says the below. But I cannot see this option in the RD.

- Available values — The system searches the column in the database corresponding to the property in the Column field to collect and display up to 1,000 values for the Column property in a new window. To add literal values to the Value field, check one or more boxes and click OK. (You can also type literal constants directly, whether or not they appear on this list.) This tab appears at run time only to users who hold the standard privilege @baseclass.ShowStoredValues. For such users, it is visible at run time when the Display available values? box in the Prompt settings area is selected."
Going with the table suggestion will give better filtering option but is it possible to do it somewhere in the report settings so that we do not have to modify the section.
