Allow Kanji Characters in application
Hi Team,
Can someone confirm if we can use Kanji characters in Pega application running on V8.8.3. Currently we only allow English language in our application.
Please let me know if anyone has implemented/allowed Kanji characters in your respective applications and what challenges were encountered.

@PrashantD3011 Yes, you can use Kanji characters in a Pega application running on V8.8.3. Pega Platform supports the Microsoft Windows Input Method Editor (IME), which helps users enter characters in four different East Asian languages, including Japanese, which uses Kanji characters. Also, Pega Platform and the PegaRuleS database support the UTF-8 or UTF-16 Unicode character sets, which include Kanji characters. However, after you install a UTF-8 system, you cannot enable UTF-16. In terms of challenges, when localizing an application into languages which have the non-latin script or multibyte characters scripts, the users will see "????" instead of the actual word. In order to support the multibyte characters, your DB needs to support the UTF-8 encoding and this has to be specifically set for databases like Oracle.
