PDC provides governance and monitoring services for all environments. However, to ensure that the data that PDC gathers is correct, you must give each of your systems a unique name. For more information, see Changing the system name setting.

PDC helps you identify and resolve current and recent issues. As a result, depending on the type of information, PDC stores raw data only for up to 95 days, and then purges it. For more information, see the Data retention policy in Data collected by PDC.

To access PDC, users need to be affiliated with the Client Environment by being listed as a support contact in MSP. Review the support document Viewing your user profile in My Support Portal. Open a support ticket in My Support Portal if you need further help locating the company’s Account Administrator.

PDC will always be better software, with better support, at a better price:

Better software

PDC receives weekly enhancements and updates. For more information, see PDC release notes. Development efforts are focused on improving PDC. Autonomic Event Services (AES) was last updated in April 2020.

Better support

A dedicated PDC team maintains and fixes problems in the PDC service. Global Client Support engineers and the Customer Success team can access your instance of PDC (unless you have specified that this access is restricted) to help you understand any application and environment issues that PDC has identified.

Better price

PDC is free. There is no license to pay for, and you do not have to maintain and pay for infrastructure (Java, database, application server), or data center chargebacks for servers. Unlike AES, there is also no need for additional staff to install and maintain PDC.

You can use PDC to monitor all supported releases of Pega Platform. For more information, see Pega Extended Support program.

We strongly encourage you to update your applications to the current release to take advantage of our latest enhancements with your system. Updating your software ensures that your system sends all of the information that PDC requires to support the features that were introduced after your release of Pega Platform.

Older releases of Pega Platform that are on Extended Support require the latest patches and PegaAESRemote ruleset versions. See Enhanced PDC Integration for Pega Platform.

The PDC application is securely hosted in a dedicated private cloud on Pega Cloud®. PDC receives weekly enhancements and updates.
