RPA compability with SAP ECC
Hi,
Our issue is that our one and only Pega Robot Studio developer have quit the job. I have worked previous with BluePrism and UiPath only.
The client has developed a process that stopped working after they upgraded Sap ECC from 32 to 64 bit.
As the upgrade to S4 probably is a year or two away, they are considering RPA for this period. However they are sceptical of the same scenario happening again. That a upgrade/update of ECC will make the automation unable to complete work again.
Can you reach out to your developers again and ask if they are aware of other upgrades to ECC that will cause issues with existing automations like going from 32 to 62 bit?
@AkselI17069784I am not aware of any specific issues with SAP ECC. I suspect the changing of "bitness" is more to do with the "bitness" of Runtime. If you are using 19.1, you would likely need to use the 64-bit Runtime. In the install folder are two versions of the exe. You would change your shortcut to point to the 64-bit version. If you are using 22, the "bitness" is selected based on the Operating system you are running (so likely 64-bit). I would suggest testing your automations with both the newer version of SAP and also the newer version of Pega Robot Studio/Pega Robot Runtime (after you have upgraded your project(s) to 22.1 and tested them against the current version of SAP).
