PDC does not recognize node type when nodes are starting in scenarios such as data migration, cluster restart, and so on.

Symptoms and Impact

Nodes are under Other Category. However, they are in running state.

Steps to reproduce

Restart the impacted environment. Monitor the Node category in PDC.

Root Cause

PushNodesInfo daily agent runs to send information about node to PDC. This information also includes the node type. When node starts running, this agent must run before PDC knows the node type. The agent must run soon after the node startup, however, in practice it may take up to a day. Hence, the agent is unable to send the node type.

Solution

An enhancement request has been entered for this issue but has not yet been assigned to a specific release. This Known Issue will be updated with release details when the enhancement for this issue is available.
