I am not able to add alternate email addresses as I didn't receive any mail for verification.

If you're not receiving the verification email that means there's a possibility your organization's firewall might be blocking it. If not then raise a ticket via the link stated above.

If the verification email is supposed to come to your personal email id then there's no firewalls involved which will stop it as such.
